Pro tip: I finally got my half-finished quilt project moving again by setting a 15-minute timer each night.
I kept seeing people online say you need huge blocks of free time to make progress, but that just made me put my quilt for my niece in Omaha off for months. I started just doing a tiny bit after dinner with a timer, and I've actually finished three whole squares this week. How do you all fit in small bits of work on your old projects?

Ever try the "just one seam" trick?

Wait, you can finish a whole quilt with just one seam? That sounds like magic, @verac40. I’ve been sewing for years and always get stuck trying to line up all those pieces perfectly. The idea of a single seam feels like finding a cheat code for a video game. My brain can’t even picture how that would work without everything falling apart. You’ve got to explain this trick because it might save my next project.

That "huge blocks of free time" idea is such a trap. I see it with people putting off cleaning their gutters or fixing a fence, waiting for a whole free weekend that never comes. Your timer trick is smart, it makes the start feel less heavy. What's the next small step on your quilt after the squares?
