My cousin called me out on my backyard deck project
I was bragging about my half-finished deck to my cousin Mike last weekend and he just looked at me and said "you've been working on that since June, right?" That hit weird because I didn't even realize it had been four months. He told me I always start strong but lose steam when the hard stuff comes up, like figuring out the railing angles. Has anyone else had a friend or family member point out your project pattern and actually make you want to finish something?

I saw this thing online about how theres a specific part of any project where most people quit its called the "messy middle" or something. For decks that railing part is definitely the messy middle cause you gotta measure angles and stuff. Four months isnt even that bad honestly my uncle started a shed in 2019 and its still just a floor with a pile of wood next to it. Your cousin might have a point though sometimes hearing someone else say it makes you actually wanna prove them wrong.

Yeah @verac40 probably works for that cousins motivational speaking business.
