Cleaning out my closet and found a quilt I never finished

I mean, I started it years ago when I had more free time. Now looking at it, I feel kinda sad but also motivated to maybe pick it back up, idk how to get started again though. The pattern is from my grandma, so it means a lot to me.

Your grandma's pattern? That's priceless, how could you stop?

I get what you mean about something being priceless, christopher952, but for me sentimental value doesn't always mean it's right for the project. My grandma's pattern feels kinda dated, and the colors just don't match anything I own now. I kept the fabric, but I'm using it for small keepsakes instead.

It's cool how @charlie_stone84 found a middle ground. Sometimes the old pattern itself feels off, but cutting it up for new things totally keeps the memory. Like turning a dated floral into quilt squares for a pillow, or using the best color bits in a modern patchwork bag. That way you still see her favorite colors every day, just in a way that fits your style now. The love's in the fabric, not just the original shape.
