The $3.50 poncho in my car trunk saved my side gig

I do mobile dog bathing on weekends for extra cash, and last Saturday in Austin a storm hit between two appointments. My rain jacket was in the wash, so I grabbed this cheap poncho I bought at a gas station and kept going. The clients didn't care I looked silly, they just wanted their pup clean before the rain ruined the walk. That one little thing kept me from canceling and losing $120 in bookings. It got me thinking about how we over plan every small step of quitting a 9 to 5 but forget the tiny backups that keep momentum going. Anyone else have a random cheap item that saved their hustle at the worst moment?
