General Discussion about the Rigidbot Printer

Start Here/HOWTO/README Thread

Postby spiderdaddy » 07 Jun 2014, 11:29

Let's start a list of things which first time RigidBot users should do and check in order to get to the first print.

For instance: Calibrate the Extruder flow rate: http://youtu.be/YUPfBJz3I6Y

As more experienced users get their printers they can post things to watch out for as well.

I assume that we can then make this a sticky thread.

After my experience I would definitely check to see if the printer will extrude before trying to print anything. Raise the head way off the board and do a test extrusion.

Next I would check the calibration of the printer. Although I bought a printer that was supposed to be fully assembled and calibrated, the first thing the printer did was drag the nozzle across the heated aluminum bed, probably ruining the nozzle and definitely marking the bed.

I haven't seen any calibration instructions, the manual says to look at the videos but there does not seem to be a video up yet.

we could make an "unofficial set up guid" for everyone how like to start and take the risk of damaging his printer because we don't know much
I have made a basic doc an if everyone who try to get his machine running put in the steps he made in an add detail he has figured out remove the wrong things this could be become fast a good start point i think.
also we can ask the assembled printer guys to put in pictures of the wiring for the limit switches or if some one debugged them and so on...

only a try at your own risk!!

if you like to edit i will give you access or post the new things you know an pics an i can add them..
if someone like correct my bad english feel free to do

We have a Wiki!

Feel free to update here: http://rigidtalk.com/wiki/index.php?tit ... ng_Started

I think we have everything from this thread moved over now so we may unstick this thread soon.
