Having to manually push through filament after every print

Postby AndreyM » 19 Aug 2014, 00:53

After putting in the replacement e-bay thermistor, I have a weird problem of having to reload filament into the extruder after every print. Lets say I have a successful print, then load another file and start printing. However, the head would move, but no plastic is extruded. I have to pull it out, cut off the end, and manually push some through. After this step, the print would work. Did I just not quite tightened the screws together on the extruder or might there be another problem? Thank you

After a print try setting the temperature manually and then extruding 20 cm. This should work without problems.

For instance:
M104 S190

Then
G91
G1 E5 F300
G90

Or use Pronterface or Octoprint controls.

the sure way to keep this from happening is to just before you start your print feed the line in till it bottoms, then lift up a few mm...directly after your print push the lever and take out filament...takes about 2 seconds to do it and well if it isn't there it won't get clogged..I've had other issues but i'm usually close by when it stops so thats the only catch..
