Postby nurtle » 28 Oct 2014, 13:40

hey all, this will be my first assembly required 3d printer. im trying to find the power supply and controller board so i can determine the total cost so i can save to get the kit. i am going to get the meanwell se-600-24 power supply but i do not know what controller board to look for. i will be running dual extruders. your input will be greatly appreciated.

on a side question has anyone printed or tried printing with polycarbonate or pva on the RB 10x10x10?

thanks.

Hi, there are some people currently looking at replacing the main board as well as making adapters for the cables.

Any RAMBO which can support 24v would work.

thanks for your reply. so this ( http://www.3dmakerworld.com/store/parts ... onics-v1-3 ) rambo board and which of these two power supplies are better for dual extrusion and heated bed? ( http://www.3dmakerworld.com/store/parts ... y-24v-400w ) or ( http://www.trcelectronics.com/View/Mean ... 0-24.shtml )?

Did you replace the board? How did it work out? I am considering doing the same. I've tried levelling the bed and the x-axis slide, oiled the rods, and did two days worth of tiny current adjustments but the Y axis (moving bed) still misses steps giving me prints with the layers offset from each other. I'd like to run a bigger motor on that axis, but with the drivers stuck to the board without sockets, its probably best to use the frame and replace everything else.

Did you use the rambo board? Was the conversion more or less plug and play easy or is there something you can warn me about? Which power supply did you use? I'm thinking about getting the bigger one just to be sure.

i recieved my printer kit a few days ago and finaly have got it to a point where it can be plugged in and moved around. found out i couldnt with the stock mobo and psu because the psu when shook sounded like a bag of rocks. i had bought the rambo v1.3 and a different psu but when i went to plug in the steppers and the other stuff to the new rambo i found that none of the plugs so far fit. i have no clue what to do to make the rambo accept the rb electronics. if anyone knows of adapters or have fixed the problem before please help me out. @sciencelookers i would hold off untill more info is uncovered.

Hi guys!
If sombody know what I need to check else, tell me, please!
I assembled the rigidbot (small) and connect it to the computer. I used Repetier Host with settings like this http://rigidtalk.com/wiki/index.php?tit ... s_Settings. I can see temperatures of bed and extruder. I can change it. Fan 1 and 2 works good. But no one engine not moves!
This is commands for engine:
16:40:18.507 : N52 G91 *6
16:40:18.507 : N53 G1 X50 F4800 *41
16:40:18.507 : N54 G90 *1
16:40:18.534 : ok
16:40:18.534 : ok
16:40:18.534 : ok
16:40:36.464 : N61 G91 *6
16:40:36.464 : N62 G1 X50 F4800 *43
16:40:36.464 : N63 G90 *5
16:40:36.467 : ok
16:40:36.471 : ok
16:40:36.471 : ok
16:45:45.028 : N165 G1 X50 *119
16:45:45.032 : ok
If I use Cura and try to calibrate the bed, I can see blinking led near usb socket.
What can I do whith the main board?
